Pewter Belt Buckle
How do I make a pewter belt buckle to help?
I am a longtime fan of Copenhagen, and was the hope to a belt loop on the lid to my favorites can. My original idea was to cut a piece of metal the size of the lid, solder hook and loop for the belt to that, then glue the lid to the plate. Then I was told that I could simply hook and loop, it has put in head down the lid, and pour in molten tin, using the lid as a mold, the result being a solid piece of tin behind the cover which resists deformation of the belt, hold the lid in place and keep the components of the belt buckle unshakable. Can I use this process to my idea a reality, and if so, where can I find the elements in tin?
I think epoxying cover of an "old" loop would be preferable that the merger something and pour it into the lid. Any molten metal burn to finish the cover and do not reach your goal. Try to find a loop that fits inside the cover and epoxy together. If you could find the right size you could even loop crimp face rear cover of the loop and not need glue.
